Table Notes and Explanations

(Please refer to the table below.)
  • Select view:
  • To compare the software in this project to the software available in other distributions, please see our Compare Packages page.
  • Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the "nautilus" and "gnome-shell" packages. The Apache web server is listed as "httpd" and the Linux kernel is listed as "linux". The KDE desktop is represented by the "kdelibs" and "plasma-desktop" packages and the Xfce desktop by the "xfdesktop" package.
  • Colour scheme: green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.

After I heard that ParrotOS had updated their distro I thought I'd give it a second chance as I did like 3.5 but it was quite a 'buggy' experience. 3.6 has had all those niggling issues ironed out and it works like a charm on my aging laptop.

Parrot have done them selves proud with this 3.6 update, no lag, no glitches as of yet. It comes with many tools for pentesting and the anonymous surf works! as far as the world is concerned - I'm surfing the internet from many other countries other than the one I'm in, I did multiple tests for IP and DNS leaks all of which could not find me.

ParrotOS being based on Debian is right up my street, I have always favoured Debian and its derivatives due to the stability of Debian, even on "testing" it is very solid/stable.

I will be using ParrotOS as my daily solution from now on.

Keep up the good work, devs.

It is my regular system solution daily.
Stable and load of Security.
This distribution designed with cloud pentesting and IoT security in mind.
It includes a full portable laboratory for security and digital forensics experts, but it also includes all you need to develop your own softwares or protect your privacy with anonymity and crypto tools.
